Hey,
I don't vintage race but I do roadrace a SV650. The bike prep is probably very similar. I can help you with that. Call me as my typing skills are pitiful.

Artie theres alot to consider here, what track do you plan to race on , where are you located, what class do you plan on riding in etc. In my area we are fortunate to have the lrrs series at new hampshire international speedway which offers the penguin racing school which when taken touches base with bike prep. The vintage circuit here is the uscra series and there website gets into all the rules and details, incl. clases. others around the country would include ama vintage, ahrma, wera, and fim/namu circuits. check out there web sites and you should be able to download all the required info to get yourself set up. Be sure to keep an eye out for rule changes before the season starts, some tracks and circuits may start requireing bottom fairing to stop oil leaks from getting on the track next year. I am also building a racebike for loudon next year. hope this has been helpfull and mayby we will meet sometime on the track. GOOD LUCK

Oh well my wife actually won a light weight superbike race!! at least one of us got it right. I will look foreward to seeing you guys out there maybe even race prep my XS as well! If I can help you with any info just ask

pete
my brother jim took the penguin school last weekend, said it was great except the gsxr he was borrowing was set up way to small for him so he didnt ride the rooky race. going to set up a ex500 for next years race season for him. He was riding Kevin Koskis of komokoski racings 02 gsxr 600. I didnt make it up this year for any racing but hopefully next year will allow for it.

Wow campus motors I don't think there anymore. Good luck with it but be careful with the racing it is addicting!!!!! And Roy I'm glad your brother had a good time we have a great bunch of people at LRRS I hope you guy's join us next season. If I can be of any assistance let me know. I actually know where a couple of nice EX-500's are hiding for decent dollars if you need them. I'm not spaming and have nothing to gain just trying to help. Production twins class is the best and least expensive class within LRRS. Good luck to all.
