Hey Folks:

A Few Quick Questions (79' XS650 with Mikuni CV-carbs):

Changing from air-box to Emgo-pods should not affect the starting circuit or the idle circuit should it?

When I re-jetted all my Suzukis I never saw any alteration in starting or idling and all these bikes possess Mikuni CV-carbs as well. Should I expect to see any change in the ability to start the bike after I put the pods on?

Will I need to increase the pilot jet size?

I don't believe that I can change the pilot-air-jet, can I?

I hand lapped the valves this time and what a difference in starting an idle.
Pulls better at low rpms too. Stock filter boxes and exhaust pipes.

John:

Do you mean that you lightly sanded your needles to decrease the width and therefore richen the mixture? I never heard of anyone trying that.

Is that what you did and did you only remove the anodization from the "fat" portion of the needle?

By the way.......the rotor is on the way.

Doug:

I didn't mean to "not get back with you" but my computer crashed and was down for a week or so and I just found your message that I had printed off last night in one of my pockets.

I will PM you.

David
