just wondering if anyones ever put a different engine in the xs frame? Easy install/mod? trouble areas?

Having gotten to know the xs650 engine, I've thought of putting one in an xs750 frame, maybe single carb, but will probably never happen.
These engines are pretty simple once you get into them.

why in the 750 frame? and why single carb? sure easier tuning i supposed but the right side of the engine is always hotter and having a single probably wouldnt help that problem too much...

I think most people mod the bikes because they can.
