I got all my front end isues worked out for my new project. All I need is a speedo gear that will fit the axle. My forks are 34mm. The speedo gear I currently have fits the newer XS650's, therefore being too SMALL for this axle. (The axle set up for the 1972-1975 bikes is a tad bit bigger)

I have all sorts of parts for trade.. Actually one thing I'm currently working on to sell is a freshly custom painted and polished set of front and back fenders, sidecovers (metal), tank, and headlight cover.. All to match and be ready to bolt on. They all come from a 1976 xs650. What would that be worth?

Ricky im confused, the 72 axle is all by itself. It is tottaly diferent then any other model. yes it is still a 34mm front end but it is totaly different then the rest. the 73 -76 are all the same and then the 77 up are the same. 70 and 71 are drum brake and by themselves too. There is no way to put dual discs on a 72 front end. The rotor bolts directly to the right lower fork leg via a tubed mini akle. Then the wheel dogs into the rotor with the different from the rest speedo drive spacer, finnally the main axle goes through the whole thing includeing the mini axle.

They do And I have put 81 wheels on a 75 with no problems. The 72 has a totally different system then all the rest. I will post some pictures later.

Then I need a 73-76 Speedo Drive Gear. This has been so confusing to get this front straight. I have built a WHOLE BIKE from the gound up and this last part has been holding me back. Last time I use a 34mm fork..... arg!!
Anyway, Anyone got one? So I can put this build to rest and get some photos up finally? I've been at my shop over 9 hrs a day for the past 2 weeks on this bike. The mechanics of it are rippin clean and just wait till you all get a view of this paint job too.. It's my best yet.
