Am about to buy replacement indicators for a stock 81 special (SH) model.
The current superceeded part numbers are now one and the same for front and rear. I think the front and rear indicators are different lengths.
I have measured the front ones as 41mm long for the stem section only. The head that conatins the bulb will almost certainly be the same lenght for all. My Rear stem is 61 mm long.
The question is which is the front and which is the rear, and are the OEM ones fron Yamaha going to be the same length as each other or are they going to be different lengths?
Wally has the same bike as me and his front ones are longer than his rear. Hence the question mark. My bike came from a guy that had 4 so I'm guessing mine may be correct. Can anyone shed some light? Confused Cheers

front were around 30-40mm longer than the rear...

-front mounted to the headlight
-rear mounted to the tail light bracket or the upper shock mount gusset

-i use short small kellerman micro 1000 blinkers mounted
-front, with a small bracket bolted with the 2 bolts in the lower fork clamp
-rear, in the threaded hole in the upper shock mount gusset

- no but i suppose the tooling costs are less for a single sized blinker that can be lengthened with a spacer
