I have a '75, basicilly stock and I have gone through 4or5 headlights in just a short time. I recently switched to an h4 type bulb and that just went. Any Ideas? Thanks.

Check your voltage @ 3000 rpm, regulator might not be doing it's job & over supplying (yours should be adjustable, so might be able to tune it, otherwise you can fit a chrysler unit for around $30 I think), too many volts can eat globes up for sure!

make sure it's got a good ground and all connections are clean, dirty contact or undersized wiring increases resistance = more heat, bulb carrier in good condition? loose bulb = vibration

I found a bad ground was blowing the bulbs on my 75. Clean and grease all your ground connections.. On your 75 the regulator is adjustable. I messed with mine for awhile but finally replaced it and the rectifier with Pamcopete's mods. I now get a steady 14.5 volts at anything above an idle.

Also the higher wattage globe you use, the quicker they blow, especialy with the good vibrations these machines create! So if you've been trying to brighten things up a little, you might want to dull it down a notch.
