I tried to introduce myself before, but somehow managed not to get it sent! My name is Marion, and I just got a 1976 XS650C. Very, very nice stock condition. I've put about 300 miles on it in the week I've had it, and I really like the bike. I've been riding for 40+ years, and have wanted an XS650 for many of those years. Finally I broke down and bought one!
I ride in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia mostly. As for the bike, I'm going to keep it pretty much stock, with improvements for handling. I'm not looking for more power; I've got faster bikes if I need speed. I like the XS mostly for the way it looks, sounds, and feels at moderate speed.
y experience with XSs started back when they were first introduced. I wanted one, but was a little bit too young to buy one. By the time I bought my first new bike in 1978, the Suzuki GS750E was out, and I needed the faster bike instead. My buddy bought an XS650, I bought a GS750E. We'd occasionally swap rides, and though the GS sure outran the XS, I found out that a vertical twin has its own charms. Now, 30+ years later, I finally got the XS!

Thanks, Gordo. I'm male, just like Barber, Butts, and John Wayne (g). I've never been to Carlisle. I've been to the vintage Japanese show/swap at White Rose over in Jefferson, PA, but not to Carlisle. I keep meaning to go, and somehow I'm always too busy to get there.

Busy, unfortunately I know the feeling. Better than doin' nothing except getting deaper in debt. Went a couple time's with friend's, allot of stuff, made out pretty good, too. I was gonna mention John Wayne, but today I find it just as polite to ask. I do see allot of women rider's nowaday's, so,.Again, welcome to the site, check out the vault, allot of good info in there.
