I'm about to throw this electrical system in the garbage... Ok, this should be simple. The only thing that is hooked up is the positive lead from the battery to the main fuse and then to the ignition switch. When I turn the ignition to the on position the fuse blows. why why why??? please help

i know that tone of voice for sure. usually accompanied with this look too Evil or Very Mad i'm the master of mad so know i only speak from experience. first off as much as you want to do this NOW get yourself out of the way. and count to 3600. now this is how i do it. after an hour of ANYTHING ELSE. go back with a multi-meter disconnect it all the way and test from frame ground w/ your black and the hot that tripping w/ red. start at one point and go to the other. battery to the fuse, fuse to the switch. then check you switch for a problem
double check there are no other connection there. if so disconnect them and proceed w/ solace. there is always the marijuana maintenance program
or a beer whatever Mr. Green

the voltage rectifier is hooked up to the red in between battery and key switch if it's fried it's direct to ground, if that's not it diconnect the other wires on the switch except red and plug them back in one at a time to figure out which circuit the short is on, year of bike is always helpful
