I am a relatively new member here, but have been lurking on this fine site for almost 2 years. I'm bringing to this forum the news of the death of a fellow rider, Ric Maron. Ric, whose username on Bobbertalk.com and the XS-650 Garage site was GETURMOTARUNNIN was killed on his way to work yesterday by a drunk driver, leaving behind a grieving wife, kids, and many friends. He may have been a member here; I can't verify that. Ric and I discussed his build, and engine work, and I never knew him to say an unkind word. Here's a link to the news video clip about the accident. I hope his murderer burns in hell.

I am asking that perhaps the bad blood and character-bashing going on in the "650Rider vs. 650 Garage" thread here be belayed in respect for Ric. It just seems a bit inconsequential right now.

Thank you for bringing this tragic incident to out attention. Any motor vehicle accident that results in a fatality is grim news, but here, early in the morning, we don't expect it to happen to someone in the "Garage". May God bless his soul, and for the rest of us...heads up..

Terrible news, condolances to all those who new him.
Young kids were they? Thats the saddest bit. If so, is anyone passing the hat around anywhere?

"Deeply Depressed" ??? "Looking for work" ??? "Can't find work" ??? But yet the A-hole has enough money for booze to get drunk in the AM and THEN drive his daughter to school? Sorry gramps... as a guy with a wife and 3 daughters and also as a guy who rides damn near every day... no sympathy pops. I hope (futile I know) that guy spends the rest of his life in jail, and after that... let his soul burn...

RIP brother.

Yes. Streeter Clow, who runs Bobbertalk.com has a hat out. Streeter is a good Christian man whom I know pretty well. The money will get to Lori, Ric's wife...

John...........Sorry to hear about the unfortunate death of your friend,my condolences go out to you and his family.

The New York State Attorney General is attempting to persuade legislation in that state to pass a law that would allow the DA's office to prosecute drunk drivers with murder charges to send a message to those who drive under the influence of alcohol. Hopefully if it passes, other states will follow suit.
