I tried 5twins tx parts swap for the swing-arm and rear wheel; My findings are much improved rear brakeing, yet no rear wheel lock-up assosiated with a disc brake, I am very impressed with the combination. The swingarm is larger and less apt to flex, the only down fall that I can see with it is unsprung weight gain. However how much does under bracing add to the stock arm? Now my next step is to use a 36mm fork from a xs-750 . I need to have the steering stem bolt changed to use it on the 650. I was told I can use the tx-750 trees, but this would mean getting the old insrument cluster and I really do not want to do this. The xs-750 will except the 35mm type gauges. Does anyone know if the emulators from a 35mm fork will work on the 36mm fork, also where I would find progressively wound springs? I have been trying to build a vintage looking on off road bike. This front end would add 1.5 inches to the bottom of steering neck to the axle. My plan is to run 14-14.5" rear shocks. If my calculations are right this will add about 1" to the wheel base due to the leading axle, should not drastically change the steering geometry and gain approxmately 2" in ground clearance.

I still have not located a lower tripple tree, well I did some guy on e-bay from california had one for $100.00 . I cant see that price for a tree that is comming off from a bike that really doesnt have much of a following or retail value. Need to find a junker some where.
