Hi, I have a 74 TX650A frame. I've read that the 75 XS650B was when Yama sorted the bike out. Is there any difference between the 74 and 75 frame? My goal is to build the best handling standard or cafe.

BTW, I have a 70XS1 since 72, and an 80 Special and a 30yr collection of parts. Thanks, Tony in Oakland, CA

Look at your front down tubes and motor mounts, If they look like your 72 you have the old school frame. If they look like your 80 then you have 2nd generation frame. The early frames do suffer from flex more so then the later frames neither are perfect however.

Thanks for the help. I have the 74 TX650A 2nd gen frame.
Is there any difference between the 74 (2nd gen) and the 75?
I've read articles that state that the 75 XS650B had my improvements, including the better frame. Maybe it's the UK magazines.
I suspect that there's no difference.

Thanks, Tony
