Worked like a charm!
I had a ding in the bezel ring, so that needed to be replaced. I took a couple of screwdrivers and uncrimped the bezel, 'bout halfway around, and removed it like a tire. Long and tedious.
Getting the trip knob off was a little tricky, reverse thread, probably on with locktite from the factory. There's a small slot at the end of the rod it's attached to, had to put a small screwdriver blade in that slot to hold the rod still.
Popped the clock out and reset the mileage to my top end rebuild, easiest part of all, 'cept for figuring out the math, Ha!
Used a little grease on the rubber lens dampner while putting it all back together and then re-crimped the bezel as best I could.
Looks geat.
I did log the correct mileage down for future reference though I'll never sell.
IIRC
There was a site that I had come across some time ago that told how to change out the needle. Can't find it, but you would have to get the bezel and glass off and I believe the needle is just pressed on with some glue?
Put a pry under the needle and remove. On setting the new one you have to set it just a bit below the needle stop. Getting it so's It'll rest on the stop when not moving. A bit tricky there.
