New to me xs650.. but what year is it!?! help!

Picked it up on friday. Its obvious its been slightly modified from its original form but im getting contridicting views from what im told on what years had what parts. Exhaust looks 70-71 .. title says 71 .. it has a front disc brake ?? i was under the impression 71 would have a drum .. couple other things too. Is there a VIN stamped in the frame i can reference? Any help would be awesome!
I can get better pictures too.. this was just my proud trailor moment! haha

The frame # should match the engine #, if not it's not a problem. Just need to reference the frame # for frame parts, the engine # for engine parts.

| frame is stamped 447 - 706200 by the tree .. im trying some of the references but not getting anything i understand as a set in stone answer.. so far im thinking either 76 or 77 .. anyone else know? im gonna try in a couple hours after i get back to the house to check and see if i can find some more numbers on the bike

so its a 77 then? .. is that going to be a good or bad thing? i dont know much about the differences in the model years . I guess im just hoping i dont have a redheaded step child year.. had that once with a car i owned and sourcing aftermarket parts was interesting to say the least. I know parts are readily available for most all years of the 650s just want to make sure i know as much as i can before i go buying frame parts and stuff that dont line up. oh yeah i got it for $1000 running .. needs some tuning and obviously a seat and some other small things but i think i did alright.

| Go through this, gives a good bike by bike and year and differences www.xs650.org.au/general%20info.HTM Take no notice of the prices at the bottom as they are Australian and a time ago
