I don't know if this is the correct place for this question or not but here goes anyway. I was curious what kind of tool I need to do the nice looking grinding/sanding. I have an electric grinder but it is one of the big ones that you hold at the bottom and has a handle sticking out on the side as well. It has a very aggresive grinding wheel on it and pretty much butchers anything it touches as far as looks go. To be able to get a nice finish on the metal do I just get a different disk on it or do I need a different type of grinder/sander. I am wanting to grind some things off the frame but don't want grind marks left behind. Any help is appreciated as I am new to all of this and learning as I go along.

I use an air sander similar to this one. I attach a grinding disc to it for heavier grinding. The slower RPMs allow for a lot better control. When the grinding is close to the level I want, I switch to an 50 grit sanding disc. There is a plastic backing plate for the disc.
