Has anyone come up with a fix so the kickstand doesnt jump up if you just touch the bike or move it. Yesterday I tired to slide the back end over because its tight in my garage and the kickstand jumped up as I slid the back wheel over. As I leaned the bike back over I failed to notice the kick stand had jumped up and by the time I did it was too far gone. Dented my new painted tank, busted the clutch lever & ruined the new hand grip as well as knocking the crap out of my ankle, Any ideas would be appreciated. Boy am I pissed. Just got it finished and not used to its weak points yet or mine. Its a 78 roadster

Ground a bit off the frame where the beginning of the kickstand rests on the frame when its open so it swings a bit farther to the front.......it used to always stick straight out and was too easy for the bike to fall....which it did a couple of times .....spose at some point if it is overdone it may not come back easily enough if you forget and leave it down and take off.........

Harleys are all this way, it sucks. Their kick stands will barely even go to 90 degrees.
I've never had any problems with mine, it leans over nicely. I did have to weld on a little extension handle to get it around my aftermarket exhaust.
Grind and weld, weld and grind my friend.

You could try a shorter spring, this will pull the stand forward harder. It will make the stand a bit stiffer to use but will stay down better.
