I have been trying to install a new chain on my 80' and cannot do it. When the bike is in neutral the front sprocket will not move forward so I can pull the chain end far enough out to put the back tire on. I have tried putting it in first and with the engine running letting out the clutch a little to move it through but no luck. I have also not been able to find installation instructions anywhere. I have found plenty of removal. It seems that the chain is jammed or something. Is there a trick to installing a new chain that I am missing. Any help would keep me from going postal. I feel like this should be much easier.

yes, take the left side cover off, you should be putting on new sprockets too,
old sprockets eat new chains, old chains eat new sprockets
