If anyone would be so kind as to help me with a wiring schematic for my bike I would greatly appreciate it. It's a 75 xs650b with a switch for the lighting circuit, pamco ignition with power switch after keyed switch, reg/rec combination. It's not charging and I have checked the rotor/stator assembly and all seems to be well. Please help!! I have stared at the schematics until I am blue in the face! Everything seems to work except for the charging issue and the brake light circuit from the front brake switch. I can't seem to get this one. Thanks in advance!

Go to the vault and find the posts on checking your charging system, its very simple to follow. You need to check battery, rotor, stator,reg/rect.componets to make sure there working properly, always start with the simple things first.

Is the combined reg/rect a later model stock one or an after market unit? If you have a later model stock unit you need to modify the wiring to the brushes.
If its an after market, they make two kinds one matches the later models, one will replace the stock seperate units on the older models.
If your reg/rect has all the wires in one large plug, it's probably the later style. If the wires run into two smaller plugs it is for the older style.
One style won't work with the other without the proper wiring.

Nice diagram. I like the color. The only thing I see is the 75 has two lights in the tach and speedo not just one. But that's just a little nit picking.

I agree, that is a great diagram compared to the others floating around. I don't suppose a diagram like this exists for a 1980 XS650SG??
