Why cant I get my brake light to work? I have power from a brown wire that's hot going to one side of my switch, the other side of the switch going to my brake light wire. Why does this not work when it's all hooked up? If I unhook the wire from the switch to the brake light wire and use a meter i get power when the brake is depressed. With it all hooked up and measured at the brake light I only get about 1/2 a volt. Why? This just goes on top of the other charging issue I am haveing that will be in another post. Please help!

The tail light works like this, by the way. If I unhook the tailight wire and hook it to the brake side the brake light works. Just can't get both to work. When I check continuity from the switch wire to the brake light I get continuity from both wires like something is crossed. Forgot to tell that.

power from the brown thru the brake switch to the bulb (check socket, clean/good contacts) then needs a good ground ... checked your earlier posts and see you have a chopped 75 so lord know how it's wired but that's the basic setup for it to work

AAAHHH a chopped, good luck with that one.I would just rip the whole damn thing out and make a new harness(GO to the vault to find a good chopper wiring diagram)it will be worth it in the long run. Jayel he said the light works just not from the switch so there's got to be a problem somewhere else.

If you can unhook the tail light and hook it to the brake light swith and get the tail light to work, I would try a new bulb , sounds like the brake light part of the bulb is blown,
