This bike is shaking the hell out of this headlight I have. We have the headlight rubber mounted. Any suggestions? How has everyone placed their headlights on their bikes?
thanks.

Sorry to get off topic, seriously thuogh...love the bike, nice headlight (headwinds?). I'm assuming you have already solidly mounted the light yes? Did you put just a rubber washer or is there a rubber grommet? Is it only at idle or across the rev range? I guess I need more info to try and help.

bascially a metal bracket with a rubber washer. The only time it doesnt shake is when its turned off! LMAO
Ive read and heard and now witnessed the "SHAKING OF A 650"..the stories about them moving across peoples garages while on the kickstand...I can see it! LOL

I have what I think is the same exact headlight that I got from americanclassicmotors. Mine has an HID set up installed with the ballast, and all wires stuffed into the headlight housing.
I fabed up a mounting bracket out of thick steel strips that I picked up from home depot, and mounted it directly to the front with 2 m6 (I think that's the size) bolts in the place were the brake line union bolted, I then moved the brake line union over to the other mounting hole just a bit to the right of the headlight (looking head on). No rubber or anything and I get vibration only at idle sometimes. The stronger your bracket the less likely it is to vibrate. Get rid of the rubber, stiffen up your bracket, loctite all your bolts, and u will reduce the vibration a lot.

I could walk my Norton 850 across the floor on it's center stand with just a little bit of throttle. I agree with jerseykat (cool name), solid mount is the answer.

I mounted my light solid with a highly modified piece of angle iron. Of course, my headlight is a spot light for a Semi tractor, but that really doesn't matter. Solid mount lights will vibrate, but not like the rubber mounted ones.
