Where would be the best place to find a cafe style seat for my 1980 650. I've looked around and most say they are universal fit , if thats the case what company do you guys recommend? Thanks

Thanks alot for the response guys. I really like that one from hotwing. Can that be fitted to the bike without any major mods to the frame or anything?

Most, if not all, will require some frame work. Namely cutting off the tail of the frame behind the shock mounts. I'm working on a custom cafe tail. If you can wait a month or so, I can make you one for way less than everybody else is charging.

Regarding Hotwing Glass, if you contact Dave Burgess (contact info on his website), he will be glad to tell you what's involved in mounting his seat on a XS650. He has plenty of XS650 experience.

If you want a good seat why not use the stock pan and have new foam or cut down the foam your self. I have taken the seat pan from a 73 tx750 and cut and rewelded it to fit my 73 tx650. I am using the stock foam I reshaped with an electric knife. smothed with my dremel and a grinding bit. I am having re coverd soon.
To each there own, I like the idea of metal instead of fiberglass.

I had a seat recovered and slightly modified by SARGENT CYCLE PRODUCTS in Jacksonville, FL. They did a fine job. It was not cheap. CORBIN does this service as well.
I've beed led to believe the OMAR'S seat has metal reinforcement and is of excellent quality, but I am repeating hearsay.
I have no experience with HOTWING GLASS other than seeing some of his stuff on bikes. I have not heard or read any complaints about his products or services. Dave is a good guy and I wouldn't hesitate to do business with him in that regard.
Peace

I wouldn't have a problem with recovering an original seat, but there was no seat on the bike when it was given to me
