I have a brake caliper, late style in good shape. Also left and right calipers for XS1100/750/850 specials.
Also I'm sitting on an advance unit I bought off Ebay. I will hold it until someone is in distress. I have $21 in it. That's the price + shipping. I know they are rare, let me know.
Also need a standard piston in good condition.
Email if I can help you out.

I stripped a spark plug and was running the tap in to put in an insert. Unfortunately there was a bit of interference problem with the tap and the piston top, I was more worried about the valves. When I pulled it out the tap I saw a shiney smile on top of my piston. Only a few thousandths deep but I worry about a weak spot. Anyone trying to put in an insert please be very careful. I am putting in inserts on both sides while I have the engine apart.
Stupid senior moment.

I've got a spare cylinder head, no valves or springs. Good for practice on flowing the ports.

Shouldn't there be a way that a "Guest" cannot post? Most forums make you become a member, then if you abuse your privledges, you get booted.

kingwj,
I have an 81 special and am starting to collect pieces to do the dual front brake thing. Is it better to replace both calipers with a set from the XS1100/750/850 or use the left one off that series with the stock one that is on my 650? I am interested in the calipers you have.
