Hello Brothers, My first post after joining few days ago (be gentle). I have vintage insurance on my 75xs, but wondering what everyone else does or if there is another way to go as my yearly renewal is coming up fast. I've owned it since day one, totally original, and in southern Ontario could only find one company that offered a policy. Had to pay an appraiser $ 75.00 (knew 0 about bikes , asked me if the fringe saddle bags and windshield were factory) and then asked what value he should put down. I said $2500 and my policy is $ 468.00 When I got it in the mail it had a 750 mile limit per year so my speedometer cable fell off. Is there a international company that does U.S and Canada or ?? I have vintage cars valued at $25000 and pay $ 165/year but they don't do bikes.I'm a mature rider, no claims, no tickets and ' like pina coladas and taking walks in the rain....

I get mine from Waterloo Insurance. It's $350.00 a year. The company also has my two cars and home insurance.

PM me and I'll give you the name of my broker.

Liability from Geico $80 per year. If anything breaks, I want to make sure the parts are from MikesXS, not some junkyard that sends the wrong stuff east bum fuz and everything needs to go back and the agentcalls Mikes 2nd for the real stuff that fits. At least that's the way they do it for cars. All that's if I'm still alive. If not, I don't think anyone I know will want it. Bikes are the only true monogomous things in life. They are yours for as long as you want them. They only leave when you decide. Never complain when you swear, spit, or get drunk. They make alot of noise when you're having fun...better stop there the wife just came in.

I use the Co-Operators for vintage insurance, and I pay $114.00 a year. There is supposed to be a mileage limit, but in 10 years of running this insurance, I have never had an issue.

I have a tough time with insurance as I currently insure one car two trucks and four motorcycles. I just switched my last bike to liabilty as it was costing me on that one bike, $270 per year, went down to $50 a year, this is on a bike that is worth about $3,500. I'm willing to take this risk. I've kind of try to have a general rule if a vehicles value is under $5,000 I just use liability.

I know your question is on vintage insurance but it sounds to me like your bike is more sentimental(original owner,AMAZING!), a cost of over $900 per year it would only take approx. 2 1/2 years of vintage insurance to recoop your loss. For me personally I would put that money in the bank!
