My 78 xs is beginning to run lean on the right side. Pulled the plugs the other day and left one looks good, nice brownish tannish color, but left one had some serious white tint to it. I will post some pictures later of the plugs.
What should I do next, time for a sync?
I am running pods and one size bigger main jet. What is strange is that I have been constantly checking the plugs since rejetting and this is a new occurence. What could cause this?

Appreciate the help.

Any trash in the carbs? My 81 has screens in the seat as it comes into the needle. If your bike has this it may be stopping up.

That's because the right runs 25 degrees hotter than the left.........

So can you sync to compensate for that temp difference?

haha so what can I do in the meantime, run different heat range sparkplugs on each side? Will the right always run lean no matter how much I sync with stock needles?

Different heat range would effect the plug color but not the cylinder temperature.........nor the leaness as compared to the left......

I would suggest you adjust the air/fuel mixture screws using the "dead cylinder method".

I found that my 78SE runs best with left @ 2.5 turns and right@ 3.5 turns

Seriously over doing the mix screw on the right will cause loading a lower speeds........and will still leave you lean at higher speeds.........
