Looking to find a welder that costs less then $250-300. Not going to weld anything 3/8ths or thicker.

I know your prolly lookin for a little higher end, but just as a guage I bought one of those $100 campbell hausfelds. Its good for little bullshit, tabs, my seat mount, some basic metal repair, etc

I got a decent wire-feed at a pawn shop about a year ago for $225.00....might be a place to look if you don't mind used gear....
It helps that my son is a welder and could tell me what was good and what wasn't..

If you have experience welding you might be ok but I'm not sure I would learn and practice on the frame of something I'll be riding down the highway at 60 MPH. Be careful ok?

I know a lot of people will scoff, but I have had really good luck with Harbor Freight stuff. I know I am probably in the minority but hey I got good luck. MIG, on the bottle, dont bother with a flux core only unit, you'd be better off with a $100 pocket arc machine an 3/32 rods. I am a welder, so trust me on that. Also check Craigslist, there are hella good deals on there everyday in my town.
