Mid 70s, seller says it has original paint, good chrome, good runner. I heard it start and run on the phone, will see it this weekend. I know most people would want the bigger ones but I'm still looking for a little bike for my girlfriend so smaller is better. Does $1200 US seem out of line?

If its in similar shape to the one in the video then 1200 doesnt seem too outta touch.
You might be able to look around more and see if you can find something similar.
maybe a xs400?
cb350,cl350 both awesome fun bikes!

It's a little bike... I know you said that is what you want, but it is a bit smaller size-wise than the xs650. My CS3 is basically an early RD, really cool bike. Mine is in pieces right now for a full resto... $1200 may not be bad if it's near 'perfect rider' condition... for that money I wouldn't expect to have to put much into it for inspection and such.

Only a bit smaller than an xs? I was hoping for really small. We were looking for a cb125 but no luck on that.
No known mechanical problems, all signals and lights are there. Seat is original too but seller says it's starting to show some wear. Has about 6500 miles.
I'm not going to get a ripper deal on it, lots of guys know about it and are going to check it out. Wondering about a price in a more real world sale with buyer competition would be. I know the 350 gets over $2000 but I haven't seen a 200 before.

1400cad doesn't seem too bad for what bikes are advertised for (who knows if they are selling?) in this part of the world, if it doesn't need anything major and has nice paint. Good looking bike.
Love that sound!! Should be a real symphony riding beside the XS.

Jeff, yeah the original asking price was way up there. I don't know what he'd take just trying to figure out a reasonable offer.

Well, it is smaller... Guess it's all relative... I don't know how small your GF is, but my CS3 is really too small for me except for the ocasional blasts around town... I'm 6' 200# so not small... If it is is in as good shape as he is leading you to believe, I think it's worth it.

Well, try it on her , it's shorter in length and height to the XS... the fitment is gunna be up to her... the bike, well, if you can keep an XS running, the RD should be a piece of cake... I 'lucked' (matter of opinion) onto my CS3... $50 from a Honda collector that didn't even know what it was beyond 'yamaha'... It's a long term slow resto project for me, just because I wanted it.... maybe I'm biased... Take her with you, if she can touch the ground, she can handle it....

I don't know much about prices on those but if in good shape and you like it go for it. You say she is smaller, what about something like a XV250 Virago? Or a Rebel? I think they have short seats...

"XV250 Virago? Or a Rebel?"
Pseudo baby-harley... look at the rd... it's a standard... not cruiser, not cafe-crotch rocket... just plain ol' motor-sickle...

No it was the old 70s cb125s she liked. She likes the cafe racers, old standards and old british bikes, but not the cruisers or modern sport look. Between that, the size limit and the budget I feel like I've been searching forever but I really don't want to see her settle for a scooter

I really like the RD, $1200. sounds reasonable if it's in decent shape.
