Hi all,
I have a pair of aluminum rims for my XS and for the look I'm going for I'd like some real donuts on it. Not chopper slicks, more like big old 30s-50s looking balloons.

How far can I go before I start stress testing the seat of the bead on the aluminum rims? I'm also doing a TCBros hardtail on it and have seen others mention 130 on the rear being clear of the tubes, chain and other goodies. Will the aluminum rims be OK with that size?

Cheers,
- JJ

If you are using the alloy mag wheels that are stock on the later 650's, They come stock with a 130-90H16. I have a 140 wide tire on my mag wheel.

These aren't the alloy or mag wheels, they're the spoked aluminum wheels with the high ridge all the way around.

Cheers

With those rims the max you have will be about a 110 on front and a 120 on the rear. Some brands and styles of tires might not be that big.

I have 130/80 on the rear of mine and 100/90 on the front-could go 110
