Mikesxs pivot bolt nut - what tightening torque? What did you use under the nut?

I'm waiting for him to get back to me after he looks up my invoice....but maybe it's already been revealed to someone else...

36 to 58 ft-lbs. but what you're trying to do is pull it down to 1mm(max) of side to side freeplay, mikes uses a nylok nut doesn't need or use a lock-washer a flat washer under it wouldn't hurt

I'm trying to figure out now if a normal hardware store washer is hard enough or if it will just compress and make a mess. There's only one shot at it really, since it's not recommended to reuse nylok nuts. So far haven't been able to find a hard washer in a good size. Might drill out that original locking tab thing and use it as a washer. I'm surprized it doesn't ship with a flat washer.

A good quality flat washer can be found at any auto parts place, tractor store, or even chevy or ford maintence shop.. As for the nyloc nuts if you re use it just put a dab of blue thread locker on the threads and it wont back off..............BG

normal washer will work just fine, you won't be pulling it down tight enough to deform it that much, if you hit the upper torque limit and have to much slop you'll need spacing shims in between the swingarm and dust seals

I have about 1000 miles on it and it seems to be working fine. I think I discovered why the bolt doesn't ship with a washer. In my case at least, the bolt barely comes all the way through the nut, not long enough for a washer.

I couldn't get it past 40 ft lbs and I chickened out on trying to get it tighter. It felt like something was stretching or stripping, but it could have been the bushings drawing in more. Not sure they were in as far as they could go.

Noticed one grease seal was turning with the arm and the other was staying with the frame, okay I assume since there's nothing in the design that would prevent that Smile
