Well I've been getting bored waiting for the front end to come in so I sat the gas tank and front wheel on/next to the stock frame at about the hieght it will sit at to take some measurements for the frame I'm gonna be building (single downtube with a neck to fit a harley front end.) Still gotta go pick up the rear wheel I'm going to use too. Anyway here's a picture I snapped from my phone.

Front end came today. slapped it together to make sure it's gonna work it's an 18", I know most of you guys are using 20"..but I like it low. Just a couple more pictures of it with the stock frame. Hopefully I can get busy building the new frame this weekend now that I have all the parts I need.

west 24- Thanks!
xs1961- American Classic Motors $300 shipped to my front door. I got it off of ebay..and they sent the wrong one at first but eventually got the right one to me. The legs are raw (unpainted and not chromed) which I like and might run it like that for a while. Like I said this is the 18" fork so it's 2" under stock for these bikes. So if your cool with scrapping every now and then this is the way to go. I've rode much lower bikes and have never had any real problems.
Tomorrow my dad and i are going to pick up the metal for the frame, might make an extra one while we have it jigged up, might as well.
Going this weekend to get my 16" apes, my 16" rear spoked wheel, and I've got a guy making some step studs so I can run these dogbone risers I got off of ebay with the springer fork.

You don't have to change the neck to bolt Harley front end on..Just change the bearings..Presto bolts right on

I read that about running a Harley front end on here somewhere. But I'm making a whole new frame so I might as well just make it fit Harley bearings.

Got my rear wheel today, its from a heritage i suppose. Anyone know the story behind the two leading two spoke pattern?? I'll post pics if you don't know what I'm talking about. Can't decide if I like the way it looks or not yet. Think I'll leave it alone for now though.

cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotor...ccessories
thats not the one I have but its a link to one of their front ends. Mine was cheaper because its unpainted and it looks like they are out of that one right now. Still, $380 shipped to your front door isn't bad at all.

it's a wassell or wassell knock off. not sure, they're getting quite popular seems like.
think i may be changing directions with this bike, just picked up a '73 ironhead and i might use the front end and frame supplies on it...that means this bike might be headed for some sort of (somewhat) stock frame build. gotta get all my parts in one spot and think it over. might end up keeping the hd with the stock frame who knows. i've got so many ideas, maybe i just need more bikes!
