Hi. I've finally got the engine oil tight so I guess it's time to fill it up. I was wondering what you guys advise for running it in. It's only had a rebore and new pistons and cam chain, the rest is as found.

No one asnwered this post so..........50-100 miles is where most if not all the metal for break in would be shed.......easy running with 10-40 or 15-40 should be fine....then change at 100 miles.........

And one really should scrub a new bore with soap and water good to remove any possible stone left in the hone grooves..........

I'm sure you know this already Razer, but synthetic oils shouldn't be used for running in, they can prevent proper bedding in of rings.
I used the same oil that I usualy use, Penrite 20w 50. Apparantly their car oil HPR gas 20w 60 is good oil for these bikes, i've never tried it though.

Thats right. Basic "dino" or mineral oil should be used for no more than 100 miles, best for 50. With no additives.

I like to use simple cheap 20/50 for about a thousand miles before I switch to a more expensive formulation that is suitable for engine longevity.
