Anyone up for helping me with this one is WELL HUNG.

ok, I recently bought a home custom xs650. nice job, will post pics soon. I'd like to get clear which engine is in it. I'm told it's the american special. It has no starter motor, kick only, and it has an oil level window on the offside under the last 'A' of yamaha.

If I haven't given you all you need to know, then it's because I don't know what I'm looking for. ask and i will run out and get you an answer asap.

The only thing this engine needs to get it on the road is te thrust bearing for the clutch. So, I'm close.

Thanks in advance, Smiffy

The engine number will reveal all!

The oil window is a later feature and the lack of a starter (sure it's not just blanked off?) is a early motor! Cheers
