i ve been happily driving with my BB for a few years when my micro-power ignition box gave up Sad
the box in the box is all resined inn but my mechanic says its only the transistor inside there thats shot.

i wonder

- why could it possibly happen

- what to do (buy the whole set $$$ ??)

no I wouldnt buy the whole lot here in australia you can get the fixed very easily there s a guy in melbourne that does them usualy guys that work with any kind of cdi can get them fixed

Contact Boyer first, see what they say. Usually best to go where it was made for repair. 1 reason is the resin they use - each manufacturer uses their own resin to fill those boxes up, so each manufacturer knows what "antidote" to disolve the resin they used! Then is usualy a simple replacement part and all's well again. Cheers.

If you call Boyer Bransden they will sell you any component separately, if a repair does not work. Pricing is fair and shipping swift, even across the pond. greg

Ive had Boyers on my bikes for many years, only twice has the magic box gone kaput (sooty smoke & foul smell! ) and in both cases it was due to the reg/rectifier cocking-up & giving out too much juice - 16v was enough the last time . Boyer will sell all parts individually.
