whats the smoothest the 270 or the 277 rephase
or are they that close theres no difference

Unfortunately, the only way to know for sure would be to build 2 bikes identically except for the rephase angle and compare them.

Here's some screen shots from the simulator I wrote. In operation the program does an animation. These 2 pics are with the crank at the angle of max force for an engine balanced to 62%. The red circle and line represent the amount of force generated. Not much difference so I built mine as a 277.

not to mention a 277 is just cheaper to build all thats needed is a cam and ignition. no special shaft or crank web to purchase. i have 2 277 bikes now one street and one race, also a stocker and the rephased bikes are just unbeleivably smoother than the stock bike.

i have a 447 engine i'm going to build up
I do have a spare 447 crank but getting the 270 crank pin has been the hardest
has anyone 277 a 256 motor ?

changed my mind im going 277 its almost harder to get a spare crank
let alone let alone a 270 crank pin,

so to 277 it is
so somebody talk to be about the process of balancing a crank
after its 277 rephased does it need it ?
