After a few years of riding sportbikes, I have started to get the itch for a older bike like the 74 Honda 550 I learned to ride on. A good friend gifted me with a nearly running 72 XS2 last July. I soon found the popular bobber builds on the net and decided that would be a much more fun project than getting the original bike on the road. I built the frame last fall, and am slowly picking up parts to complete it. The frame has a close to 8 inch stretch but I am considering shortening it. I initially made it that long because I am taller, 6'1''. I am hoping to have it on the road by summer. Great site

Not sure about the chain slap, first hardtail project for me. I'm in Southern Alberta, and the riding season is about two months away.

Easy fix for chain slap is check out how it's done on dirt bikes either rollers or sliders. I do like the look of the 8" stretch gives a little more rocking chair ride instead of a straight kick up the back.

I stuffed a 650 into a H/D WLC chassis once, and used a chunk of Ski-Doo track slider to guide the chain. Worked well.
