I know I'm not the sharpest pencil in the box, but.... In rebuilding my swing arm assy I notice the wheel bearings are sealed type. Do I need to use the seals? The only grease contained would be what I put there to keep the seal from running dry? Makes no sense to me, Anybody? MM

67 thou on my plastic swing arm bushings and wheel bearings.....all tight.....as for the wheel bearings I would bet they are good as new.....can tell by spinning wheel off the bike in a jig and see if there is any catches when you are balancing the wheels...I just shove some grease down the shaft hole with my finger (no pun intended) and try to maybe force a bit of grease into the bearing cavity around the edges of the spacer....some seems to go in there.....and some on the seal with everything clean..............

As john said try to put some grease in but make sure your hands or whatever are clean and by all means keep the seals. It's realy amazing how fast a little bit of grit will destroy your bearings.
