yeah, the bars are the next thing i'm changing, probably pick up a set of clubmans or clipons from Mikes with my tax refund. it's already got the rearsets on it, but you can't tell 'cause those pics are shite (pic in my intro thread shows 'em alright, though). trying to decide on a seat still...at a loss as to what i'm going to do there...

Rhinoceros 3D. not quite as precise as AutoCAD or SolidWorks, but it's easier to use IMO.

Thanks, Heard much about it. I use Solid works, and Mastercam every day!
I machine regular parts during the day and chopper parts in the evenings!

well...started her for the first time today. sounds like frosted sex...does idle a bit high, though, and the tach doesn't work, so i'll need to get that sorted out.

Dunbar; Tach not working, may be that the square end of the drive cable is not going far enough into the meter.

Mastercam......

Well it is a very good software, the solids part is very easy to use. I think much much easier than Solid works. One thing I like about solid works is the coordinate system is easier to use than M-cam. The latest version X3 tool path picking off of a solid model is much more robust than previous versions, and it ships with many new "high speed" tool path modules than before. I use Surfcam at the Chopper guys, and hate it!

High Idle did you clean the carbs? If the Idle hangs it might be running lean.

Until I read that I didnĀ“t even know that there is a thing called "frosted sex". At least, now I have an image about what it sounds like .... Idea

Gmaan, nah, we don't have a full machine shop on base, but we do have an auto hobby shop where i can do some basic stuff. access to tools, welder, lifts, etc...

oh, and the reason it was idling high (as far as i can tell) was that i forgot to push the choke back in after it had started warming up... Neutral

few more crap pictures i took yesterday, just slightly better quality. also, since this is my first bike, and in turn my first XS, i can't be sure, but i'm PRETTY sure that framework under the seat isn't stock...going to make mounting a slightly longer seat a bit of a pain, i think :/

Looks good, once you shorten up the seat the tank will set lower and clean up the looks. Are you in base housing?
