With my 75 Café 99 percent complete(paint only) I am looking for another project bike. I found two real good deals if they are still available.
for $250 I can pick up a rusty but running 1976 XS
Or for $400 I can get a real nice 1985 Yamaha 600 radian. The Radian is %100 % stock, but has sat in a garage for six years, and does not run. Do I go with another 650 or a 600 four?
I can sell the radian fast after fixing and cleaning it up. The 650 I am afraid I will not want to sell it! One more bike in the garage my wife is ganna kill me, but it keeps me out of the Bars, and out of trouble.

I would like to pick up an older KZ400 twin...I've always like the looks and had a KZ 4 cylinder . Buy both. Keep the XS somewhere else for a bit. Get the Radian running, some spit and polish and in springtime turn it for a decent price. Use the proceeds to unrust the XS. Smile

Looking at the list of bikes that you own, I wonder if a 600 cc four cylinders is something you will like?!?! I mean REALLY like.

I guess not.

I can imagine that the GPZ is fun to ride. And that you are much into vintage bikes. So what a question about a 600 four?

Take the 650, and take your time. Make it a really nice one, racer or bopper or whatever. And don´t forget to post all steps here including pictures!

P. S.: Reading this "... One more bike in the garage my wife is ganna kill me, ...." your question should have been:

DO I NEED A NEW WIFE?? Idea

LOL on the wife comment! Unfortunatly I can not get rid of her, we have to many miles together........
Besides she let me work on my bike in the house last winter, as long as no oil or greases was present. See my thred in Cafe racer "and so it begins"

I kinda figured out what to tell her, " i'll sell it when it is complete" and buy you something! That should do it!

Oh my GPZ, I put around 10k a year on it I love that bike! I rode it from Napa CA. To Minot North Dakota last summer. Is is not uncommon for me to split from my house and drive up the California coast to Ft Bragg for lunch. Also I commute 120 miles/day too.

You know that it´s not true, and she knows as well! That´s the way it´s supposed to be, and it´s called love.

Well here is an update! I did not get any one of the bikes!
I was going to look at the xs650 but waited to see the Radian first. I drove 60 miles to another town to look at the Radian and it was a friggin Suzuki!
One of the butt ugly suzuki's from the mid Eighty's with a tear drop tank. It was a V-four. The guy said "oh sorry I forgot to mention this" (butt head)
So I called about the 650 and it was gone!
Oh well the hunt is on again.............
