So I finally got my bike a 1983 xs650 Heritage Special. The bike seems to be in good shape and runs pretty well. I have been silently reading these forums for months while i waited to get my bike. The plan is to build a relatively simple bobber since I dont have alot of experience with this. I am sure I will have some questions along the way.

Welcome aboard, Ben. Interesting '83 there with the mags and dual discs.
Lots of things you can do to make them unique without cutting them up too bad.
Love my '83 www.650rider.com/index...pic&t=5392

well I cant say that it wont get cut up a little bit, from some pictures I have found I like the idea of extending the swing arm a little and keeping the shocks with a solo seat... lucky enough to have a shop to do this at and someone to help me... really I have spent months trying to figure out the exact modifications I want to make while looking at other peoples bikes..... when and if I figure out what they did maybe I can come close..

I wish I could come across a bike that looks as good as that one. Mine seem to come in pieces. Have fun.
