Hello one and all, great site I must say.

I have a 1979 special, it was black. I bought the bike mainly as transport to work etc as my little 4 x 4 needs to go off the road and have some work done to it. I had no problem in buying a 650 as I once had a nearly new one in the early 80's. Great bike. Man, that last sentence made me feel old. I sold it as I was more into Hang Gliding at the time and money was short.

The one I have now was rough, had pitted chrome guards etc so I etched primed them and painted them blue. I also stripped down the back of the bike and painted the frame swing arm, arm filter, battery box. The battery box was down to bare steel as the battery was leaking, not nice, poor girl.

Anyway, she's looking good now. Amazing what a bit of make up will do.

I think I better find a jacket as doing a 100km in a tee shirt is not the
wizest things to do.

Is awesome riding weather- please get your self a jacket! Leather is around $20 a kg, skins worth a fair bit more!
Yeah I dont have a road going XS, my road bike is a TRX 850, the modern XS! Race the XS I've got in the Historic Competition Motorcycle Club WA.
We race at Barbagallo and Collie. We are hosting the National championships next Fri, Sat, Sun at Barbagallo if your interested! Over 200 entries, including some top former riders including Robbie Phillis & Peter Guest. Unfortunatly though, no Yamaman!:
