Hi All,
As mentioned, I'm somewhat new to the site. I'm the guy whose logo is currently being used in the header, but I haven't really participated much other than that. However, I just acquired a 70-something XS (still waiting to see the title to get the actual model year) and am in the process of taking it apart. It's been sitting in someone's back yard for about 15 years out here in Colorado, so needless to say, it's quite a project.
So if you want to experience the trials and tribulations of someone getting in too deep, with limited knowledge and tools, you can see the progress here: www.verne.net/yamaha
I'll do my best to keep it updated.

Hey specialer, welcome aboard. Now is that the Mica Peak.com logo or what?

Hey Wulf,
It's the 650rider.com logo at the top of this page. A take on the old Yamaha tank badge.

Ok, maybe it's the way I have my page set up. Are you talking about the old oval shaped badge or the round Yamaha symbol? I'm still using the layout for my page here as set about 8 months ago. I seem to recall something about the contest and the winner was based on the old oval tank badge. That's not what shows up on my page.

Yup, that's the one.
And I just found out that I'm getting three-quarters of another XS to help with the project. The question is, can I blame the sudden addition of more parts in the garage on the dog?

Hey specialer, really cool job on the logo! I really like the realistic shadow effect.
