Has anyone used Tim Parrot's rotor rewinding service lately? I know folks have had success with him in the past, but I ordered a rotor from him on 9/8 ($95 order to his Paypal account) and aint heard a thing since. No rotor, doesn't answer my emails, nothin'.

Anybody got any inside skinny on him? maybe a phone #?

Some of his feedback lists the same problems. Contact Paypal resolution.

I used him (through eBay) and have been completely satisfied with the service and the rotor. He doesn't answer email much, but keep trying. I did have his number and talked to him on the phone when he had my rotor to rebuild, and he seems to be a pretty good guy. He is, however, overworked, and the hurricanes might have slowed down his ability to work some.

Good news. I just checked my Paypal history on this transaction and noticed there is now shipping info. Evidently Tim is still on the job. I humbly retract my griping.

thanks,

If yours is a good as mine you will be quite happy with it. The ohm reading is not 5 but 4.5 but it works like a charm. (He says the ohms will only be 4.5, but that it is actually better like that). Mine puts out around 13 at normal idle and 15 to 16 at 3500, depending on whether I have the regulator turned down or not.

If the reading at idle is 14.4 volts or over, or the reading at any RPM is over 14.9 volts or higher, and the battery was fully charged before you put it into the bike, then the charging system is not charging correctly (over-charging). Go to section 3A marked "Charging System Over-Charging".
3A. Charging System Over-Charging:

Possible Symptom #1: Headlight and instrument backlighting brightens, dims or flickers with RPM, battery will not hold charge for normal period of time (overnight, etc).

Possible Symptom #2: Motorcycle blows fuses regularly.

Possible Symptom #3: Batteries fail regularly, must be replaced.

Possible Symptom #4: Known good, fully charged battery is hot to the touch after bike had run (hotter than the plastics & metals around it).

Probable Cause: Charging system is over-charging.

Well, I got the rotor today and it's just like y'all are saying - Works super! We're charging like a champ! 13.4 volts at 2500 rpm. Woot!

That was the last glitch. Runs like a striped ape. Soon as I can find a place to put 'em, I'll post some pics.

Good to hear you are charging, but at 2500 RPM you should have 14.5 volts. If you have 79 or earlier you can adjust the voltage regulator.

Good point. I'll double check when I get home tonight. In the meantime, Here's some pics:
