yes, everything should be just fine. i havent gotten around to installing mine.

theres a few things to think about when putting that kind of power and money in a bike.

1. bigger pistons, i bought mikes hardened performance rods for my engine.
2. why up the piston size without giving the head any improved performance. i got the performance cam kit, along with the performance valves.

i figure if i am going to put a sweet ass kit like that in my bike, then i want to make sure that my rods can handle the extra stress. you can hold off on the head. since you can pop that off and refresh it later.

I have been reliably informed the standard con rods will handle the 750kit, assuming the engine hasn't been over revved causing little end damage......I would port the head first then look to any other improvements second.........the biggest problem to the motor when installing high performance gear is the crank seperating due to high revving.
For my mind a 750kit, mikes 5th gear, ported head, and regearing the rear wheel. Performance when needed + fuel economy for those long trips without putting to much stress on the crank.

Hey Loco, The gearbox was changed during the 447 range. The box with groves cut into the tops of the gears will take the 5th gear. On Mikes site he states 78 and on, that would be standards and specials

Don't for get to retard the timing....at least play with it so you can become aquainted with what works best....these are timed advanced as far as I am concerned......take off with tall gears is helped a lot if it can rool off on the lower revs smoothlya bit retarded and at 2500 it rolls up ..................
