Greetings from Southesast PA.
I bought, and still ride, a 77 XS650D in 1982 from a guy I worked with and it was in great shape. Only 7K miles at the time. I love this bike but every now and then I lose interest and put it up for a few years.

The bike has always been great to me. I bring her out of mothballs, replace the battery, tires, clean the carbs, put some fresh gas in and vroom, Away I go again. Still original exhaust and overall looks.

She is great for short rides (1 hour or less at a time) due to my butt falling asleep on the stock seat. **I'm currently looking for an upgrade seat. I love poker runs and back roads at 35-45 mph. I feel that is what this bike was built for.

Anyway, I finally broke down last year and invested in some replacement parts. I finished most of the work but still a few things to finish up. And then a good cleaniong for this year and start riding.

It looks like there is a wealth of knowledge floating around in these forums and I may be asking for some helpful hints on a few projects I have.

I have owned and sold 3 other bikes in my many years but will never sell this one. This one goes to my son in my will. That is how much I like it.

Well, happy biking and I hope to see some of you on the road,
Bob

Welcome aboard Bob, and ditto about passing the bike on.
