What Happened to 650rider.com?

650 Rider went offline for about a month at the beginning of 2010. In order to save the technical information that was here, XS650.com acquired the site and brought it back online as a read-only archive. If you were a member of 650 Rider, you will need to re-register at XS650.com

Since I've already made some posts and have gotten some great help I figure I'd stop by and introduce myself.

I'm from the Cincinnati area, and I just bought my first XS650. Unfortunately I haven't gotten my title ( since I'm getting the guy I bought it from to file for a lost title ) so as far as I can tell from Mikesxs indicators it is an '81. So far I have stripped everything off and welded on a TC Bros. hardtail, bought a 79 sportster peanut tank and rear fender. I pulled the motor last week to finish my welding on the fram and to get rid of some of the stock brackets. I also purchased some forward controls and linkage from TC Bros. This is my first "build". From what I was told when I bought the bike it was all good except for it wasn't getting spark. I was told it was the stator, but like I said this is my first build, so I don't know anything about motor work. I have gotten some emails from people with some good suggestions, but I'm not even digging into the motor until I get the frame looking the way I want it. Then I will dive into the motor. I also need to rebuild the carbs, get some bigger jets, two pod filters, and see if there is someone who sells all the carb parts in one package, so I don't have 800 boxes showing up at my door.

Well, to those of you I have already talked to THANK YOU for all your help, and to the rest, hope we can talk bikes sometime.

Also, just info, I'm pretty much all into the '60's style bobbers. Bare bones.

Welcome aboard neighbor. Might have to get a tri-state support network going here.
ikesxs for carb parts, just order all you need at one time, save on shipping for orders over 50 bucks and delivered in one package.
