I really liked this part..

Quote::
The 1 or 2 Finger Wave: One of the most popular waves. This is the arm fully extended down to your side at a 45% angle with 1 or 2 fingers pointing to the ground. A perfect example of this wave is in the picture linked above. Although, this is really not a good wave to a guy riding a Harley. He probably thinks you are telling him some parts just fell off.

killtrip, Funny stuff. Passed the link to several friends. Even though they ride tasseled handled Hardleys and wear 2 piece leathers. Smile I saw the Honda rider yesterday and he didn't wave, maybe it was my Yamaha Society T-shirt???

Question: what is "two piece leathers"

The problem with the wave, is that some days it feels like every other vehicle is a motorcycle anymore.

Chaps or pants and a jacket as opposed to a one piece pull over.

tweedy64 round these parts riders use the leg point to warn others behind them of rode obstacles, mainly dead dillo's and white striped kittys.

renloy the street fighters here are some of the friendlyest. They usually stand on the seats to wave. Wink

Here in southeastern NC the sport bikers wave all the time. If you're on a Harley, they will wave if waved to, but if you're riding anything other than Harley they will wave first. Harley dresser riders, for the most part won't wave to non Harley riders. Riders on Harley chops, or factory customs (Softail, Sturgis, Wide Glide, etc) will usually wave to anyone.

Hi Guys,

Everybody--and I mean *everybody*--waves with a sidecar! Even people in cars smile and wave....it's like having a new puppy outside a store. People can't help it, they smile! On a recent trip to Oregon, I met four new guys, who were interested in how the outfit handled, did I worry about right-hand corners, how did the brakes handle it, etc., etc.

Harley hard-core patch holders smile and wave. So-called "Organ-Donor" bike riders wave as they blast past me. Those big scooter things that they ride on the highways now--even they wave!

And of course I love it. I think of the ol' Yam and sidecar as a rolling ambassador, and I'm along for the ride. I'll wave to anyone. I wave to bike cops, and, wonder of wonders, they wave back!

So, yes, I enjoyed the article. It's fun to look for the wave, and to feel like a member of a select fraternity/sorority.

Pretty good amount of people waving around here. What they called the two fingered wave is the most popular. One thing I notice is it really depends on where you are. I don't wave in tight city traffic or to riders on the other side of the freeway, it's more for the happy places - country roads, heading up to the lake etc then you see another rider and know they're out there enjoying themselves too.
