Problem!!!!

It appears that to fit the aforementioned discs with modern 4 pot calipers, one needs to obtain a spacer and mounting bracket. After much reading and searching amongst the dross of the net, I have found but 2 solutions.

1) Make them your self. (This is possible, and will probably be what will happen) or

2) Vanem.com.au, an interesting (but somewhat exspensive) pervayor of custom goodies for sr500's mostly sourced from Japan. They have available a spacer to mount modern discs to sr500 hubs, which I believe to be the same, for the princely sum of $85, plus postage, I assume. They also have a kit with 6 pot nissin caliper, master cylinder and brackets , hoses etc. for a number that I think started with a 9. I'm unsure as I had a sudden chokeing attack and in the insuing panic I deleted the page and have not the courage to revisit it.

Does anyone know another source of these spacers?
The packet on display in thier add had the name "Daytona" on it.
I have googled the name but have not yet found a reference of use.

Ed.

It's worth a look at thier site, they are something like Deus Ex Machina. Very stylish sort of art-deco look.
Also take a look at Bratstyle in Japan, there's a whole movment doing weird things to sr500's and sr400's and xs650's

The lines and bolts are Daytona Japan
daytona-global.com/

It's the adapter pieces that have a different name I can't really make out..

looks like Singer? not sure.

I did some searches on 320mm brake swaps and kept hitting supermoto sites..If you keep looking I but you'll find the answer there.

Thanks for the links Sschering.

I ended up making my own. 10mm thick, put them on and still no clearance. I then realized that every pic I'd seen of this mod was for the cast wheels. I've got spokes. Dur!!

When looking at my SV 650 Suzuki to see if the calipers I'd got for the job would fit, I found that th SV's calipers (two pot floating calipers) were narrower on the in side and, alot of that was reinforcing webbing for the floating side that could be machined back to give more clearance. They will look the same as the four pots and probably be better than the original 1 pot floater. I picked up a set with hoses and master off US ebay for about $35 + $55 freight.

These should then pull up almost the same as my SV which is just fine.

I'll post some pics in my Cafe Racer thread when I remember to get new batteries for my camera.
