well, all the other bikes i've worked on, i've been able to lower the brake foot lever down a 1/4" or so in order to increase reaction time...ie: having my foot to the right versus my foot over the pedal.
but this bike seems to have a little nob that prevents you from doing so. anyone been able to do this? thanks.

Back off the adjusting nut? Take the pedal off and drop it one spline?

that's what i was trying to do....that's what i've done on bikes in the past. but on this one, there's a "nub" on 2-3 of the splines, exactly where the split is.......will look/try again.

Maybe someone didn't have it lined up correctly and nubbed the splines trying to drive the bolt back in?

There should be a pedal height adjuster bolt on the inside of the frame that bears against the bracket on the back of the splined shaft.

Hi there,
I have recently done this on my 1984 xs650, I had to completely remove the foot peg, after I had done this, I had to completely remove the bolt in the brake lever to be able to pull the lever off the splined shaft. After you have done this, you can then proceed to rotate it to the desired angel and then replace everything that you removed!=)
hopefully this helps you out! or you have already figured it out!
Cheers!
