Ok....I've got an '81 XS650, and hate the seat. I'm not planning on hard-tailing it, since I have a 30 mile one-way commute each day, and prefer to keep my tailbone intact. Has anyone run across a decent looking seat that works with the '81? About the only thing I plan on doing is lowering the rear 1-2", paint job, new handlebars, pipes, etc. Nothing too fancy. Any help/info or websites is appreciated!

I have read here in the forums about some members sending their seat off to get it custom rebuilt with gel padding and new foam. Might be cheaper than a new aftermarket seat. Can't remember where though...someone will chime in!

Heres one that came to mind but there are others.

Anyone have any newer info? I'm still looking, but unable to find anything that looks decent. I'd really like to get rid of the original seat....

AS far as i know you won't get any other seat to fit as your is the slipon type...............keep the pan and rebuild the foam, may even be able to install jell pads in the one you have and cut the Queen of the back then recover
