You can easily pull the carbs off as a set without messing with the synch settings. It might not be a bad idea to check the synch after replacing the carb holders but just pulling the carbs off won't change the settings.

Still running the stock carb boots. 61K....if you take them off the carbs and clean them "well" and then coat them with silicone.....even down in any cracks then put the metal covers over them and wip the excess off and let them set overnight they won't leak......61 k on the originals and no leaks......as long as they aren't stone hard junk............

cost 1 tube of silicone black high temp gasket sealer.....only a bit of the tube gone also..........

rsylvstr.......I use just use one vacum guage.......switch it back and forth....suppose there is a better way but I had this one and it works.....walmart fish tank air control...........clockwise increases the speed of the right and counter clockwise increases the speed of the left......

Just bckwards with vacuum clockwise decreases the vacuum of the right and counter clockwise decreases the left........I usually increase the speed of the engine a bit for syncing......

Hey XSJOHN, one question, as I'm putting in my carb holders.. I have the gasget sealer 1194 that mikesxs sells, do I apply it on both sides of the gasget for the manifolds or just one side? Or do you recommend the black one you said earlier?
