If you're wanting to beef it up there is a TX750 swingarm on e-bay.
I think the bid was 10 + 16 sh but don't hold me to it.

i like beefing things up.. whats the difference between a swingarm for an xs650 and the tx750? longer? wider?

and how easy is it to fit on my xs650? just pop right in?

my intent is to get a new swingarm and extend it 4".. how would this work for that purpose??

Larger dia. tubing (4mm). It will swap right over. I've never extended a swingarm but am sure it could be done. If your wanting to run a fatter tire it will crowd an already tight space.

nahh, not interested in a fatter tire.. just want it a bit lower. my uncles a metalworker, and he said he'd do the extending for me if I can get one..

does anyone know if it would need any bracing? like the ones I see on ebay? Or can I just extend the swingarm 4" with no extra supports?

On my 81 I bought a set of 11.5" shocks with progressive springs from Mikes xs and it lowered the bike considerably and it dont bottom out. I have heard that you can buy 11" sportster shocks and with slight mounting modifications they will get you alot lower than stock too. Just tossing these ideas at you if lowering is all you want to do.............BG

yea, I've ready that rebel shocks and savage shocks will fit right on and lower it considerably.. but overall I'm looking at cost.

Hell, if I can find a set of cheap rebel shocks laying around, I'd jump on those sooner than the swingarm.

I just figured swinarms are laying around all over getting dusty with all the hardtails being put on the frames lol.

Killtrip, I have my whole back half section sitting in my garage. If you didn't see my post, I'm in need of a stator, rotor and brushes for my 81 xs650 special. The only thing I was thinking about keeping off the back half were the shocks. If you want/need them though I'll be more than happy to let them go. If my parts are what you're looking for let me know.
