Sorry to get anybody excited, I don't have any free bikes. But they are out there, an rd350 and a CB 750 just slipped away from me, both needed a little TLC but they were free. Anybody who doesn't have their project yet, be patient and keep searching there is stuff out there!!! Always look check craigslist under free and I've even seen bikes just leaned on a fence in front of somebody's house.

They are definitely out there. I paid $100 for my untitled basket case. I'm all about finding cheap bikes to pay with, its a lot of fun and a great way to get your feet wet and not worry about screwing stuff up. If it turns out well you have a the great feeling of accomplishment.

Picked up a "parts" bike while working on my first project. When I dropped off my 76 frame to be sandblasted the guy had a 75 sitting in the weeds. Complete but with a seized motor. $35.00 with title. I used the tank off it and a few other parts. Now that I'm done with my first project I am looking at it thinking if that motor isn't too bad....

I found an add on the internet several years ago by a guy that had two 1978 XS650's sitting in a shed. Neither bike ran & the engine was out of one & in boxes. There was also a spare engine & a bunch of extra parts. The only thing that they cost me was the gas to travel a little over an hour each way to get them.
Someday I'll have to get to those projects.........

Here's one for you. An acquaintence in town was cleaning his garage a couple of years ago. Said there were a couple old motorcycles he was going to toss. What? Checked them out. One was a '65 Honda 250 Scrambler - complete with spare engine/tranny, the second a '65 DKW 125 (Sachs engine) also complete with spare engine/tranny, wheels and other parts-n'-pieces. Top it off with the fact he delivered them! How much better does it get?............Oh, the bike I ride most is a '46 Indian Chief which seems to start lots of conversations about motorcycles. That helps too! And, a few years ago I attended an antique auction in a small town where I bought my '73 TX 650 for $325. Needed gas and a battery...Wes
